(2014/10/21)Foothill&De Anza Colleges International Programs Director, Lark Crattyさんのお話を伺いました。

アメリカ人学生の40%が2+2システムを使っている。

UC、CSUへの編入率がNo.1. 90%の留学生が4年制大学へ編入する。
＊Transfer day： 色んな大学の担当者が来るInformation Fairを開催している

2013FALLは112名がUCBへ163名がUCLAへ編入。

日本人の学生は留学生全体の約10%でその数は少しずつ増加中。

留学生オリエンテーションは4日間行われるので必ず出席するように。

Homestay($1000/朝夕食付き）は3ヶ月契約、シェアハウスは6ヶ月契約なのでLarkさんは最初はHomestayをお勧めすると仰ってました。
（後で友人とシェアハウスを借りることもできるので）

De Anza CollegeとFoothill Collegeの違い⇒①ロケーション。De Anza Collegeの方が都市部にあるので移動が便利。Foothillはもっと山間部にあり町から離れているので落ち着いて勉強したい人にはおすすめ②人種比率。FoothillはCaucasianが多く、De AnzaはAsianが多い。

周囲にYahooなどのIT系企業がたくさんあるのでOPTをする際には有利。

生徒25000人、留学生2000人、うち日本人70人

別のキャンパスでクラスを取ることも可能。ただし、Ｉ-20を出してもらっている学校からconcurrent enrollmentのpermissionが必要。
夏はそのパーミッションが不要。

アパートは学校の前や近くに点在
紀伊国屋　バスで２０分
Marukai（日本食スーパー）やダイソーまで車で５分
クパチーノスポーツセンターも近くにある

Yes. we do accept that as long as it’s equivalent to GED>

For students who are over 18, they are not restricted to the high school graduate requirement. However, student still needs to submit high school transcript plus toefl/Ielts score for admission.

As for Admission Requirements, do you accept Japanese certificate called ‘Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates’, which is equivalent to American GED.
